Softball
I had so much fun last year umpiring the local college softball games. All those boys running around in their fresh, clean uniforms. Laughing and having a fun time.
I especially remember one rainy day. The boys got all slippery and muddy sliding around in that mess. After the game, I had them all come back to my van, strip off their muddy clothes and clean up a bit (I had filled the Gatorade cooler with plain water).
Of course, I stood guard at the van to make sure no one would hurt those precious young men … and I just HAD to peek from time to time … to make sure those sweet boys were cleaning up right.
Maybe I should volunteer for umpire again … it DOES get pretty lonely around here sometimes.
